The Bucket List Festival, is a community event, which was founded by Dr. Pippa Hawley, the Division head of Medical Oncology at the BC Cancer Agency and also Division Head of Palliative Care, Department of Medicine at UBC. Her intention was to present as much information as possible to people who were facing end-of-life issues as well as for their caregivers and families.

The event presents an uplifting and very informative day filled with great ideas and advice from experts in their fields and covers such interesting topics such as living wakes, travel medical insurance, dealing with memory loss, resources for staying in your home, recording legacies and using laughter and humour to deal with medical issues and challenges.

This community event is presented by The Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller – Vancouver Commandery (SOSJ). The modern Sovereign Order of St. John is a 900-year-old Sovereign Order steeped in a history of service to the poor and sick. Our members are individuals who have demonstrated an organizational and personal commitment to the betterment of society and who work towards the goals of the organization.
The main focus of the SOSJ is the support of Palliative Care in British Columbia.
